Air & Cabin Filter Replacement
Air Filter Replacement – Engine Air Filters help to ensure clean air is flowing into your engine to improve performance. Over time, air filters can get clogged with dirt and debris leading to restricted air flow into the engine.
Cabin Filter Replacement – An air cabin filter is an important component in any vehicle’s heating and cooling system. It helps protect the passengers from contaminants in the air they breathe.
Depending on your car, it is recommended changing filters every 15,000 miles, while others recommend a change at least every 25,0000-30,0000 miles. Each manufacturer has its own recommendation, so review your owner’s manual for your specific make and model or just ask one of our techs when you are next at R & T Shell Rapid Lube and they can let you know what your car needs.
As always, we’ll inspect your filters as part of our free maintenance check every time you purchase a full-service oil change. To learn more about the filters your car needs check out our blog.
Power Steering, Radiator / Coolant Flushes
The power steering system in your car makes turning corners smooth and easy. For your power steering to work properly, it relies on a variety of parts along with clean power steering fluid.
Why Perform a Power Steering Flush?
On average, vehicles need a power steering fluid flush every 40,000-80,000 miles.
A radiator flush is a procedure used to clean the cooling system of a vehicle, specifically the radiator and associated components, like the radiator hoses and coolant passages. Over time, the coolant in a car’s radiator can become contaminated with rust, scale, debris, and sludge, which can reduce the efficiency of the system and cause engine overheating. A radiator flush helps remove these contaminants and restore the system to optimal performance.
Why Perform a Radiator Flush?
Every 2-3 years or 30,000-50,000 miles is a general recommendation for a radiator flush. However, it can vary depending on the vehicle, climate, and type of coolant used. Always refer to your vehicle’s owner manual for specific guidelines.
